I had received my own first few rejection letters around this time and then a letter addressed to Howard Melworm accidentally ended up at our practice space. So he became a heroic but misunderstood would-be author in my mind. Later, John from Calling All Monsters sent me an article which quoted the real Howard Melworm, who I guess is some guy in San Jose. Also, somehow there's a box addressed to Leland Palmer (the dad from Twin Peaks) in our practice space. What's going on with the US Postal System?!
lyrics
howard melworm, you tried so hard to get your start
in the literary world but you couldn't make a mark,
all the people weren't prepared for what you had to say,
all the people were bastards anyway!
howard melworm, a modern day ibsen,
howard melworm, so full of conviction,
howard melworm, if you knew what you mean to me,
howard melworm, all your blues would be history.
howard melworm, a man with nerves of steel,
marginal relevance and reluctant sex appeal,
dedications to intellectual betters,
and casual acceptance of rejection letters.
howard melworm,
howard melworm,
howard melworm.
Stumbled across this great band because of Martha the band and I just love their sometimes melancholy garage-sound.
Also I like the acoustic songs.
I still remember seeing them live in my hometown when they were touring with Erica Freas and asked them for a setlist to have something to remember the great concert.
It´s hanging on my wall since that day :) Ninehundredninetynine
